It seems not just a girl got impressed
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Yes, but the actual way this scene played out is far more damning—
Because Sherlock finishes deducing— and looks at John first. He then turns around and looks at Irene—Which just begs the question—-Sherlock, sweetie, who were you trying to impress in the first place?

Look, I made a gif of this most awesome wizard at the Leaky Cauldron!
DUDE IS READING ‘A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME’ BY STEPHEN HAWKING
I NEVER REALIZED
are you serious
I always assumed wizards just ignored science, because the fact that “magic” exists, can explain anything. But there are MuggleBorn wizards, ones who, until they were eleven, lived in the real world and learned science and things. Did they all just abandon that normal, muggle knowledge, like Harry did? It’s always been there, itching in the back of my mind.
FOUR FOR YOU SCIENCE WIZARD
YOU GO SCIENCE WIZARD
can we point out that he’s doing wandless magic too
like voldemort couldnt even do that shit
molly fuckin weasley couldnt fuckin do that

pretty sure this whole series has been about the wrong wizard guys
Plot Twist: He is able to do wandless magic because his comprehensive understanding of quantum physics means that he is the only wizard/witch to actually understand how magic works.

So he handed Derek the book – one of the texts he would have read, if he’d actually attended school this year – and signed read to me?
He knew he was pushing his luck, because really there was such a thing as taking the bodyguard thing too far. But it was like Derek had been waiting for this, because he gave a long suffering sigh, and plucked the book out of Stiles’ hands. There wasn’t even a moment of hesitation.
Derek read to him about the love between Gatsby and Daisy, and the tumultuous lives of those around them. His voice was low and soothing, and Stiles wondered sleepily how many people had ever heard him sound like this: soft and sweet, lacking the angry shroud that normally hung over him like a second skin. He curled into Derek, and felt a scruffy chin brush against his head.
Great ad campaign from the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault. More posters here.
Brilliant.
I fucking love the male one, okay. fucking love it.
men need more inclusion in the war against sexism because they have it hard too. you CANNOT say one person’s suffering or a group of people’s suffering is greater or more important than anyone else. I don’t care if there’s “more” sexism at women, that does NOT invalidate the sexism against men, OR make theirs any less important, any less worth fighting for just as vigilantly and firmly as the sexism against women.I know people like BUT WAHT ABOUT TEH MENS comments (and don’t get me wrong, some of them most definitely deserve to be mocked), but I think a lot of people forget sexism is a double-edged sword. For every girl who’s forced away from ‘masculine’ activities, there’s a boy who’s forced into them.
I’ve gotten a lot of heat from this comment. And I’ve chosen to ignore it.. but you’re absolutely right.
And the other side to that is the ‘other’ side of men. Men not being allowed to be feminine—gay men. Metrosexual men. Men who are okay or comfortable with how they are and that might not fit the “ideal” of what a “man should be”.
They suffer too. They suffer things like rape on average in the USA MORE than women— know how.. Prison. Prison rape, if we’re gonna count all rape and sexual assault here, happens more than your every-day rape. And maybe that’s fine with most people, because “hey, they’re criminals, they get what they deserve.” But that’s not okay with me. Prison is to serve sentence. Safely. Live out your time, be it a few months to a few years to 10 years to life. You’re there to serve it, be protected while doing so.
That doesn’t happen. But I guess it’s ‘okay’.
We wonder why criminals are never ‘rehabilitated’ from living in prison and it’s things like a broken system of punishment or lack of monitoring them and a billion and a half other things that make that an issue.
And again that’s only one side—a side people forget and put in the backs of their minds because it’s not important to them, because ‘they are bad people’. No one deserves that, no one deserves to suffer sexual assault. NO ONE.
Gay men get assaulted for being gay. And I’m focusing on assault because that’s what this advertisement program is about. You don’t think they have a horrible time? And I’m sure no one would argue that, but then they would try to argue that ‘cis men’ or straight men, specifically ‘cis white men’ suffer NO sexism.. but you’d be wrong in that. Being too thin, being too fat, not having a big enough penis—they get pounded by that sort of thing too. And it does affect them. Again it’s a thing people don’t like to acknowledge because there’s “more open” feminism that can literally be walked down a street and pointed at.
It’s the equivalent of like.. seeing a homeless person on a street once in a while—seeing that he’s got a sleeping bag, some sort of backpack, and maybe slightly kept clothes, with a cardboard sign, standing every day asking for food. And you drive by them because “wow just get a job”. And then saying “there’s so many starving hungry helpless people in other places”. That one person matters, too. Everyone’s suffering matters. At least to me, it does. I don’t let it keep me up at night. But I also try not to focus on just one specific group of things..
I don’t know if i’m making sense I’m semi-sleepy. But you’ve no idea how many people have replied to this specific comment and told me “sexism doesn’t exist for men” and meant it. Or have turned this advertisement, or my wording around, or used examples of sexism to swap back around to make it sexist against ‘females’. And to me it’s.. Sexism is defined as forcing a specific role, expectation, ideal, or otherwise, onto someone, based on their sex. You’re trying to tell me that doesn’t happen to men, too? Hell yeah it does.. But they don’t get fought for like women—again, probably because it’s not so widely accepted, or people refuse to acknowledge it.. but that’s worse. It has to be acknowledged. It’s why I don’t call myself a ‘feminist’, I’m..I don’t know.. I’m just for ‘human’ rights. You a human, I’m for you, being YOU, whatever that YOU is, as defined by YOU—not what you look like, not what your body is, not anything else, but what you decide for yourself. And I’ll stick up to that… regardless of if people want to agree with me about it…it’s how I feel. I understand some people just…can’t see, or don’t want to, or don’t believe it exists that way, or that it is that way. But from my experiences with friends and family, that’s how I feel about the issue is all.“Sexism is defined as forcing a specific role, expectation, ideal, or otherwise, onto someone, based on their sex. ”
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. AND THANK YOU. <3
